Platelet-Rich Plasma, Platelet-Rich Fibrin, & EZ Gel

Natural Solutions for Beautiful Skin Rejuvenation.

PRF Grand Blanc

The power to rejuvenate your skin at a cellular level lies within your own body and its remarkable natural ability for healing. It all comes from your blood, which is made up of red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and plasma. Platelets, in particular, serve the vital function of clotting your blood after an injury. But they can do quite a bit more. Once bleeding has stopped, platelets release growth factors and cytokines to start the magic of the healing process. When harnessed for popular treatments like Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF), or EZ Gel injections, platelets can bring about amazing aesthetic transformations. We proudly utilize these three powerhouse treatments at Beauti Pharm in Grand Blanc.

What is PRP?

Plasma is composed largely of water and proteins and makes up the liquid portion of your blood. It provides a vehicle for red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets to circulate throughout the body. With PRP treatments, your blood is drawn and spun in a centrifuge to separate its components…the red and white blood cells, plasma, and platelets. The platelets are then collected and concentrated into two to eight times their normal number. This concentrated amount is then injected into areas of concern where they release growth factors that stimulate and increase the number of reparative cells, enhancing your natural healing process and resulting in anti-aging skin rejuvenation you’ll have to see to believe!

What is PRF?

PRF is the second generation of PRP. Like PRP, PRF offers an extremely natural solution to combat the signs of aging and other skin concerns. PRF contains a very high concentration of white blood cells, fibrin, and a small number of stem cells found in your bloodstream. The PRF is then separated from your blood in a centrifuge at a lower speed than PRF, which allows some of the heavier components (growth and stem cells) to combine with lighter platelets and plasma. Those components tackle a myriad of concerns ranging from wrinkles to uneven tone/texture to skin laxity and more!

What is EZ Gel?

EZ Gel combines PRF with Albumin (the most abundant circulating protein found in plasma) to produce a viscose filler gel. The gel not only acts as a filler, but it also effectively stimulates cell growth and releases growth factors over time. EZ Gel is essentially the same as PRF but in a blood-derived protein matrix that can hold the beneficial results much longer. It is effective as a filler for a wide range of areas in the face and adds volume immediately to the target area. The lasting effects are attributed to the stimulation of collagen, new cells and tissues, and gradually released growth factors.

What results can I expect and how long do they last?

Since every person is different, results can vary based on a number of factors. These factors may include a person’s overall skin health, the number of treatment sessions needed, and the size of the treatment area. In general, most patients will be able to notice some improvement in their skin immediately after injections of PRP, PRF, or EZ Gel. Typical results are as follows:

    • PRP – With PRP injections, most patients notice almost immediate improved skin texture, with maximum results typically taking place in about three months. The effects can last a year or more. A typical treatment plan for PRP is 2 to 3 treatments spaced several weeks apart.
    • PRF – PRF is generally performed in a series of treatments spaced about 6 to 8 weeks apart. Initial results typically last one to three weeks, after which time the volume will essentially dissipate. More long-term effects, such as skin tightening, collagen production, and improved skin quality, may take 3 to 4 months to become noticeable and last anywhere from 6 to 12 months.
    • EZ Gel – The filler part of EZ Gel generally lasts about 4 to 6 months, at which time the filler is absorbed by the body. But the rejuvenation aspect from increased collagen begins to shine and can last up to 2 years in some cases.

Are there any side effects with treatment?

Since it’s your own blood, the risks of your body rejecting these substances or having an allergic reaction are very slim. Following injections, however, you might experience some redness and mild swelling for about 2 to 4 days after your treatment. There might even be some slight bruising, but this typically goes away in about 24 to 48 hours.
